| Biography |
Started playing guitar in 1964 (thank you, George Harrison) at age
13, started getting paid to do it at age 14. Switched to bass in 1973 when my band couldn't find a bass player and I noticed that other bands couldn't
either. Haven't been without a gig since, unless I chose to. Over the
years, various bands I've been in have opened for bands such as Blood Sweat
& Tears, Steppenwolf, Sly & the Family Stone, Paul Revere & the Raiders, the
Standells......oops, I'm showing my age. I've never been in a band that had
a recording contract, but I've done some studio work for several artists who
never went anywhere. I stopped playing music full time and got a day job 25
years ago, but still played 2 to 4 nights a week until about 10 years ago,
when the band I've been in for the last 20 years decided to semi-retire when
we realized we'd gone 78 weeks without a weekend off. Now we work once or
twice a month from September to April or May, then I spend the summer seeing
this great country on my Harley. |
