| Biography | I learned to play bass at 16 in 1969. Played in bands thru high school, and college. MSU jazz band, and playing top 40, 5 nights/week thru college for food. After college, did the bar band circuit for several years on the weekends playing rock in guitar bands, then got sick of that, got married, and got into a wedding band playing top 40 for 8 years. Had kids, so quit the wedding band, and started playing a lot more jazz, a lot less often, for less $. I play most often in church these days. Took up standup bass in 2000, am currently working on that (and I love it). The most important thing is I LOVE playing (it's my greatest escape). I can read music, so I get calls to do shows, theatre, etc. I'm not a great player, but I can stay in the pocket - so drummers love me, and I challenge them! |
