| Biography | age: old fart (57) Yea Gods! 3 daughters, one wife. Originally classically trained on DB but blew it...jazz got me and then money. I dumped DB, bought a Fender and earned a living with it between proper jobs. Years playing: 36 pro and semi Group: own band Marc Sanderson Trio and 'So What', a 5 piece Jazz/latin hooligan outfit...also do a fair amount of depping and 'pick up' bands on the jazz circuit, mainly bebop/contemporary jazz...with a few 'names' occasionally. The odd function...if extremely well paid to compensate for brain damage. Got all the T-shirts! Done everything from sessions, TV, radio, functions, Jazz clubs, bloody weddings etc, everything that is except get famous but have earned a good living as a jobbing basser and did manage to play with a few stars now and then. Gave up the commercial scene years ago and just play jazz for sanity now. Works well with the daytime job which is sales director for a UK musical equipment distributor, Selectron (UK) Ltd. Amongst our lines we do EMG, ESP basses and guitars, Dean Markley strings, Svetlana tubes, Mighty Mite spares and Whirlwind cables and pro audio. Used to do Bartolini pickups until recently...all of which I'm happy to answer questions on. This is not an attempt at blatant advertising...we don't need it but if anyone needs help...I'm happy to! All opinions expressed are likely to be totally biased, possibly offensive and sometimes amusing, rarely sensible. I hate bagpipes, accordions and banjos. Also 'Blanket on the Ground' Country and Western. I have never played a Zon. |
