We want our visitors to hear a wide variety of tones produced by different instruments. This could help the player when trying to decide on a new instrument. A lot of factors go into producing a decent tone so a detailed description is given for each sample.

Audigy soundcard, no pre-amp was used, no compression was added, the
bass was recorded completely dry. No post processing was done at all. The
two samples show the BG-5's pure sound within a song context. The Godin

Method of Recording: Recorded with Cubase SX using five tracks. I took the bass level down on the mix to achieve a clearer, less woolly sound. This clip utilizes almost the full range of notes playable on the Sting Ray, the very highest note being a high e (the highest note on the ´Ray is actually an f) and the lowest being the very low b, which the ´Ray produces exceedingly well.

Method of Recording: Generally, I would have the pickup blend at 50/50, and the tone on the bass pretty flat...maybe just a little extra bass. The engineer had this method of putting the bass down into three channels...one flat, one bassy, one toppy...claiming it gave him more to play with during the mix.
